Thermadyne announces marketing changes

January 14, 2009
The Thermadyne Specialty Markets Group will handle HVAC and plumbing products.

Welding products maker Thermadyne Industries has established a new division.

The Thermadyne Specialty Markets Group will handle the company’s work with catalog and mass-market sales, automotive aftermarket products, farming equipment, tool distributors and hardware.

It will also handle HVAC and plumbing products, specifically the TurboTorch line of air- and oxy-fuel products. TurboTorch will continue to focus on new products, customer support and services, officials said.

Paul Minter, TurboTorch vice president and general manager, will also run the Thermadyne Specialty Markets Group.

“We recognize that these markets need a different level of support than our flagship industrial clients,” Minter said. “This group relies on dedicated sales representatives who work closely with our knowledgeable in-house professionals. We are confident that our new structure and quality partnerships with top-notch rep firms will give us a tremendous opportunity for growth.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the Thermadyne Specialty Market Group to utilize our expertise in engineering, brand design/development and global sourcing to offer the best value for growing consumer markets,” he added.
