The system helps retailers track their usage and comply with Environmental Protection Agency requirements, officials said.

Emerson Climate Technologies has put out a new refrigerant management system that helps retailers track their usage and comply with Environmental Protection Agency requirements.

The system uses new technology and valves to handle charging and removal. It measures the amount of refrigerant added to systems and loads the information into computer software for later review or sending electronically to other locations.

“Our goal is to help our customers maintain government compliance and meet self-imposed sustainability goals through more efficient and integrated means,” said Bill Coulombe, president of Emerson Climate Technologies’ retail solutions division. “By eliminating the inconsistencies and guesswork associated with the charging of refrigeration systems, our refrigerant management system will allow our retail customers to easily satisfy guidelines set forth by the EPA.”
