Fluke to give away devices to schools
Testing equipment maker Fluke Corp. will donate 20 of its industrial-grade multimeters to schools across the country, company officials announced.
The Everett, Wash.-based company is giving two of its Fluke 289 True-RMS model multimeters to 10 educational institutions through a new education grant program.
Fluke wants the equipment to be used to train students to diagnose machinery problems.
Members of the Fluke Education Partnership, which is a free Web-based program for vocational teachers, are eligible. To register for the program and apply for the grant, go to www.fluke.com/education.
Winners will be announced in February. The multimeters, which have a logging function that can store up to 10,000 readings, are valued at $530 each.
