Lennox’s SLP98V variable-capacity gas furnace has a blower that quietly ramps up to speed, so it has no loud blasts of air at startup or any other point of operation. During the warm months, the furnace acts as an air-delivery system, helping the air conditioner or heat pump by removing excess moisture. The furnace has a 98.7 percent annual fuel utilization efficiency and can increase a cooling system’s efficiency by up to one seasonal energy efficiency ratio point, said company officials.
