Atlas Roofing is kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month early with its pink Summit 60 roofing underlayment. The lightweight, synthetic rolls feature the pink ribbon symbol of breast cancer awareness and a portion of the underlayment's sales will benefit the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation from now until Oct. 15, 2019.

For Tracy Cook, director of marketing for Atlas, raising breast cancer awareness with the special-edition rolls is a cause she holds dear. She lost her mother to breast cancer in 1991.

“Treatment has come a long way since 1991, but it has a long way to go. Indeed, early detection is key,” Cook says. “Many of my family members have had cancer — breast, lung, oral and prostate. In every case, it’s about early detection.”

Summit 60 pink underlayment being applied to roof

Atlas will donate $2 to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation for every traditional and pink Summit 60 roll sold. With water resistance and UV protection, the rolls can optimize the life of a roof system by protecting against water intrusion and mold growth.

Made from a woven polymeric scrim, Summit 60 is designed for increased strength, reduced slippage between the underlayment and the roof sheathing and improved walkability during installation. The UV coating provides 60-day protection from the sun while the roof is being installed. Summit 60 pink rolls are available across the country. For information on where to buy, contractors should contact your Atlas Roofing representative or visit atlasroofing.com.
