Murphy's Law: Snow Bunnies at the AHR Expo

The NEWS’ booth will be a virtual hotbed of activity at the 2008 AHR Expo in New York. We’ve got two snow bunnies that will be dragging show-goers into our booth, No. 1728, to try their hand at an interactive snowmobile arcade game. I can just hear them now, like a couple of carnies hawking in the aisles, “Come inside, take a ride. Try your luck at the magical, majestical, mystery snowmobile!”

Rides like that make me nauseous. In fact, I’m very likely to have a snowmobiling accident. I don’t think I’ll be in as bad shape as Rulon Gardner a few years ago after he lost a few toes in Idaho because I’m going to make sure the snow bunnies are not very far away. Don’t send the St. Bernard to pull me out of the drift – I want a snow bunny.

Every year there is something that catches everybody’s attention at the show. I remember a couple of years ago it was glow in the dark yardsticks. Once it was a rather charming purveyor of cappuccino latte. I think I recall an evap chiller that looked pretty sexy one time. This year, my money is on the snow bunnies.

Come by and see us at booth No. 1728.

Nothing sexist about your booth is there? I understand that the majority of attendees will be men, however you need to recognize that there are women in this business too. Your bunnies better be more tasteful than the picture on the website.

I like it!

Joan, I'll admit, the AHR Expo is a far cry from the bikini-clad women one could see about 15 years ago, and it should be. Our industry needs more women involved and I don't intend to demean anyone by my blog. Please excuse my cheesy marketing ploy. But, I still hope it works to draw lots of people into our booth. Actually, our "snow bunnies" will be clad in head-to-toe winter ski outfits.
