New air conditioning units, which use Prolong 410â„¢ refrigerant, are rated at 16 SEER. In order to reach the 16-SEER rating, the units use the Copeland Scroll UltraTechâ„¢ two-stage compressor, along with new evaporator coils with a thermostatic expansion valve, says the manufacturer. Other features include the ProAlertâ„¢ electronic protection and diagnostic module, which helps diagnose electrical problems and system-related faults and communicates them via an LED light indicator, the company states. The units are available in 3-, 4-, and 5-ton sizes.
