MILWAUKEE — Lucas-Milhaupt Inc., a Handy & Harman PMFG member company, has recently introduced its Web site featuring Handy One, a flux-cored brazing wire that can improve joint strength and initial quality while reducing manufacturing costs, says the company. The Web site features a video of Handy One in action, along with product information and material safety data sheets.

The concept of flux-cored material involves the use of a brazing alloy in strip form that is subsequently formed into a U-shaped channel. This channel is filled with an appropriate powdered flux, and then closed to seal in the flux and form a finished wire.

According to a company press release, “The use of this completely encased, all-in-one product eliminates several steps traditionally associated with flux including diluting, mixing, and its application, reducing metal joining costs while improving joint strength by reducing flux inclusions at the interface between the base metals.

“This also reduces flux contamination on plant equipment, in the wastewater stream, and minimizes flux exposure to your brazing personnel. Handy One flux-cored products are available in several filler metal and flux combinations (for joining virtually all common metals) and finished forms include wire, rod, and preformed rings and shapes.”

For additional information, visit the Web site or call Lucas-Milhaupt at 800-558-3856.
