FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Facilities Services Division of the University of Alaska-Fairbanks hosts "Hvac Shop," a Web site which describes the curriculum of the HVAC department and a listing of the faculty members.

The classes teach the following:

  • Maintain chillers and chilled water air conditioning systems;

  • Maintain fancoil units, controls, and valves;

  • Maintain and repair heating systems;

  • Fabricate ductwork and railings;

  • Provide welding services as needed;

  • Repair walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines;

  • Repair environmental chambers;

  • Repair/install fire alarm systems; and

  • Repair/install security and burglar alarm systems.
