The long wave infrared heater reaches its highest temperature in 27 seconds. It converts 94 percent of the energy it uses into heat by infrared luminescence. The heaters heat objects directly without heating the air in the environment and without causing energy waste. According to the manufacturer, compared with traditional heating systems, the heaters are up to 80 percent more efficient. They have a filament life up to 9,000 hours. A wide range of models between 1,500-3,000 W are available. Features include a timer and safety shut-off. The infrared heaters can be installed on the wall, ceiling, or a portable stand.
