Texas Utility Provides Thermostats

Honeywell Utility Solutions will provide City Public Service in San Antonio with a peak load management solution. Honeywell is the single-source solution developer for the project that will install 1,600 programmable residential thermostats to reduce consumption during peak-use periods. The company will also design and provide project management, customer enrollment, installation, and ongoing maintenance support. Customers will have the ability to adjust the temperature of their home and make other changes remotely through the Web or by phone. According to Honeywell, peak load management solutions help utilities better manage fluctuations in supply and demand, volatile energy prices, and other events that affect the power grid.
