AUSTIN, Texas - Jo Rae Wagner, the national president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association for 2006-2007, has been honored with a resolution in the Texas Senate Chamber presented by Sen. Eddie Lucio Jr.

“Ms. Wagner is a fine example for other women to emulate,” said Sen. Lucio. “I am proud to know that she resides in my Senatorial District (27), and her leadership and dedication to involving more women in the construction industry is indeed admirable.”

Wagner, a mechanical contractor in Harlingen, Texas, is the second woman to serve as the president of the national association since its inception in 1883. She has worked in the construction industry for 34 years and is currently president of CTO Inc. in Harlingen.

To help further her goals of bringing more women, minorities, and young people into the industry’s associations, ensuring educational and certifications programs are up-to-date, and focusing on legislative issues, such as tort reform, Wagner also serves on numerous other boards, including the Harlingen Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals and the Rio Grande Valley Apprenticeship Program.

Also recognized were several members of the Texas Heating and Cooling Association.
