Sustainable Building Centre in Ontario Founded

TAB Mechanical Inc. and Batawa Development Corp., both of Batawa, Ontario, have established the Eastern Ontario Sustainable Building Centre (EOSBC) in Batawa. The green ribbon-cutting ceremony occurred on April 18.

“Batawa is an ideal community for our business because it is currently undergoing a redevelopment that will position it as one of Canada’s premier green communities in the future. This is a perfect place to locate our Sustainable Building Centre offering sustainable building products, along with our green training and workshop programs,” explained Michael Tiffe, TAB Mechanical’s president.

The EOSBC will offer continuing education in the form of seminars and workshops and also serve as the home base for www.greenmechanicaleducation.com, which offers Web-based sustainable construction information.

In addition to its green education series, the EOSBC will house TAB Mechanical Inc., providing various sustainable building deign services and products to assist in the conversion of eastern Ontario’s building stock into a more resource-neutral state.
