The Vent-Miser™ is a patent-pending, easy-to-use cover that automatically shuts airflow to individual rooms when they will be unoccupied. It runs independently of the heating and cooling system. The vent cover uses a battery-operated, seven-day (five weekday and two weekend) timer that can be set to open and close up to twice a day when the room is empty, and send heated or cooled air to rooms where it’s needed most. The design provides universal mounting on the floor, ceiling, or walls. The override button allows the homeowner to open or close the vent without interrupting the programmed cycle. The vent cover is available in five sizes to fit a majority of vents in the home. The unit has a low-battery alert similar to that of a smoke detector. It operates on two AAA batteries.
