SNHBA Implements New Quality Assurance Program

LAS VEGAS, NV — The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association (SNHBA) recently kicked off its new Quality Assurance Program (QAP), which is designed to upgrade the caliber of construction practices of the home building trade contractors and workers in metropolitan Las Vegas.

According to SNHBA, the new program is a partnership between local home builders and trade contractors designed to enhance the quality of homes through upgraded training, education, and certification of the trade contractors and their workforce.

“This is a win-win situation for the Southern Nevada home building industry and our home buyers,” said SNHBA president Mark Doppe. “The program will create a manufacturing atmosphere of quality practices, raise the standards, result in a better product, and refine the building process.

“We’re raising the bar for education and professionalism of home building industry trade contractors and workers.”

Since Oct. 15, trade contractors and workers have been participating in a series of workshops geared toward their specific trade. Participating contracting companies are eligible for a certification audit after the training and implementation of the guidelines are complete and in place for two to six months.

According to SNHBA, the trade contractors in the program must appoint a senior manager as the implementation leader for their company. That leader, it said, must then train company personnel on quality policies and procedures as outline in the QAP, and that leader must also ensure that those policies and procedures are carried out in the workplace.

Trade contractors interested in the program are being asked to contact SNHBA staffer John Pinna at 794-0117; john@snhba.com (e-mail).
