Motorcycle and classic car enthusiasts from the Arizona Chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA Arizona) and the Piping Industry Progress and Education Trust Fund (P.I.P.E.), along with members of Local 359, Sheet Metal Workers International Association, and Local 469, the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada, held the second annual Wheels for Meals Poker Run, a motorcycle and classic car rally to benefit the Area Agency on Aging’s home meal delivery program. Over 60 people participated in the event, including (l-r) Jim Dinan, president and CEO for Bel-Aire Mechanical Inc. and chairman of the SMACNA Arizona marketing committee; Carol Goguen, executive director for SMACNA Arizona; Lorenzo Codman who was sponsored by his two sons Jeremie and Jeremiah of Bel-Aire Mechanical and took the third place prize of $100; Jim Strong, retired Bel-Aire Mechanical safety director and recipient of the second place prize of $200; Alex Sarandos of WJ Maloney Plumbing and winner of the first place prize of $300; Terry Flood, president of Q.C. Analytical Services Inc. and SMACNA Arizona board member; and George Sapien, coordinator for the Phoenix Sheet Metal Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
