CHANTILLY, VA — The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) sent a letter to Congress that expressed support for H.R. 1360, which would ensure that project labor agreements (PLAs) are considered and permitted in certain circumstances on federal and federally assisted construction projects.
“SMACNA believes that H.R. 1360 is a reasoned and necessary amendment to federal procurement law,” said the association. “And the federal government, like the private sector, should continue to have the option to consider and establish project agreements where appropriate.”
