SMACNA Chapter Helps Foundation

ST. LOUIS, MO — The St. Louis chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) recently contributed a $100,000 grant to The New Horizons Foundation — A Sheet Metal Industry Initiative. According to the organization, this investment in the foundation will help fund management education for the sheet metal and HVAC industry.

“Our chapter has played a key role in our industry for more than 50 years,” said Howard Stine, St. Louis chapter president. “We look forward to the opportunity to take a leading role in helping to implement the New Horizons Foundation’s programs as it puts in place an aggressive educational agenda.”

The New Horizons Foundation was organized in 2001 with the goal of commissioning research and education that would have a positive impact on the growth and success of the sheet metal and HVAC industry. According to the foundation, it has enlisted financial support totaling more than $3.5 million from contractors and industry partners. This includes SMACNA, which contributed a $2 million seed grant for the foundation.
