The H2000â„¢ leak detector uses hydrogen as a tracer gas to detect leaks. It uses a safe, nonhazardous 5-percent hydrogen in 95-percent nitrogen mixture. The H2000 has dynamic background compensation and minimizes problems with background interference, because hydrogen gas is dissipated much quicker than other gases, the company says. According to the manufacturer, standard settings on the instrument can be easily changed using the leak detector's user-friendly display menu. .
