Revisions Made to SFUA
The SFUA is a model collective bargaining agreement outlining labor policies of SMACNA and SMWIA, and is recommended for adoption by local bargaining units. It has been 10 years since any revisions have been made to the SFUA.
It has been agreed that both associations will revisit the agreement every two years. Also, Chuck Corbett, SMACNA director of labor relations and chairman of the SMACNA labor committee, said that the new document is “evolutionary rather than revolutionary.”
Official printed versions of the revised document will be available to SMACNA chapters and local unions in the future. In the meantime, an annotated draft is available for down-load at www.smacna.org (website).
