INSTALLATION: Taco LoadMatch™ single-pipe system
COMPLETION: Completed
CUSTOMER: Proximity Hotel, Greensboro, N.C.
OBJECTIVE: Combine energy efficiency and indoor air comfort while simultaneously qualifying for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) points.

Dennis Quaintance, principal of Quaintance Weaver Restaurants & Hotels, and owner of the Proximity, sees solid marketing value in being environmentally responsible.
Superior Mechanical installed Taco’s LoadMatch system. Beyond that system, a rooftop mechanical room holds two gas-fired Raypak modular boilers for redundancy, along with various Taco base-mounted pumps, expansion tanks, and 4900 Series air and dirt separators. The Trane chilled water system, which comes with four 50-ton multistack chillers, provides energy savings through its eight stages, and is also rooftop-mounted for space savings.
“Energy costs mean more to us because we’re the developer and the owner. We’re able to look at things over a longer term - 10, 20, even 30 years.”
- Dennis Quaintance, owner of the Proximity Hotel
