Plant Gains ISO Certification

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc., a joint venture between Danfoss Inc. and Turbocor, has announced that its manufacturing facility in Tallahassee, Fla., has received ISO 9001:2000 certification.

The certification applies to the design and manufacture of high efficiency, oil-free compressors for commercial air conditioning and refrigeration applications. Orion Registrar Inc., Arvada, Colo., completed the certification process on behalf of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors.

“We are thrilled to have earned ISO 9001:2000 certification - the highest standard for a quality management system in the HVACR industry,” said Dan Mason, director of sales, North America/Australia, Danfoss Turbocor Compressors. “Our Tallahassee employees take great pride in designing and manufacturing products that meet these highest quality standards.”

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors operates a 38,000-square-foot, stage-one manufacturing plant in Tallahassee. It is designed for machining, subassembly, quality assurance, and final assembly operations, including run testing prior to shipment. Automated assembly and computer-controlled manufacturing work centers enable an annual plant capacity of over 10,000 units.
