PHCC Meeting Stresses Education

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The board of governors for the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association’s (PHCC’s) Education Foundation held its mid-year meeting. The meeting was hosted by Elkay Manufacturing in Oak Brook, IL, and was attended by nearly 30 industry contractors and manufacturer representatives. The annual meeting is designed to update donors on the status of the educational programs being conducted by the Foundation.

Jim Scott, president of Elkay Division, and John Heilstedt, Elkay’s executive vice president of marketing and sales, welcomed the group to the Elkay facilities. Scott stressed that Elkay’s success has grown on building relationships with their customers and industry groups like the PHCC Foundation. William Blaine, Elkay’s vice president of sales, initiated a group discussion on certification issues and marketing of the PHCC brand.

Foundation chairman Jim Driscoll recognized four new members of the board of governors: Christopher T. Moyer, Roger Peugeot, F. Carl Ziegler, and F. Kent Ziegler. The board of governors is comprised of individuals and manufacturers who have pledged a minimum of $100,000 in support to the PHCC Education Foundation.

During the meeting, the board of governors received briefings on the development status of several foundation educational efforts, including news related to a renovation of the Managing PHC Projects (MPP) course.

It was also reported that more than 150 applications have been received for foundation-administered scholarships to date in 2002.
