PROVIDENCE, RI — The National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA), the New England Fuel Institute (NEFI), the Petroleum Marketers Association of America (PMAA), and the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) are sponsoring the inaugural “Oilheat Visions” Conference, to be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence Aug. 19-21.

The theme for the conference is “Clearburn Science,” and the event is designed to show fuel oil marketers new ways to be efficient, profitable, and how to sell the benefits of oil heat. High-efficiency features of new heating equipment will be high-lighted, as well as ways to attain a positive public and customer attitude towards heating oil via the Clearburn Science umbrella.

Clearburn Science is the promotional slogan created for the major advertising and consumer information thrust this spring supported by the NORA program.

Brookhaven’s 2002 National Oilheat Research Alliance Technology Symposium, usually held each spring on Long Island, will also be held in conjunction with this event. BNL’s conference brings together the latest in oil heat technology for dealers and researchers to examine.

Conference seminar topics will include fuel quality, environmental impact, employee relations, contracting with vendors, and financial topics. Valero ceo William Greehey, the event’s keynote speaker, is scheduled to address the gathering of dealers on Aug. 19.
