Nov. 25, 2010: Trane's Jon Summers Joins CABA Board

OTTAWA - The Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA) announced that Jon Summers from Ingersoll Rand’s Trane business has joined its board of directors. CABA is a trade association that promotes advanced technologies for integrated systems and the automation of homes and buildings.

Summers is the global portfolio manager for systems controls for the Trane business of Ingersoll Rand where he is responsible for new product development, product management and commercialization of system-level solutions for commercial buildings, including HVAC control, energy management, building system integration and smart interfaces. His team is focused on providing strategic solutions to balance customer requirements for productivity, comfort and business value.

“Jon Summers will bring extensive experience and a history of strong leadership to CABA’s board of directors,” commented Ronald J. Zimmer, CABA president and chief executive officer. “His experience and knowledge make him an important addition to our team. I am pleased to welcome Jon to the board and look forward to working with him.”

Summers has nearly 20 years experience in product and program management, new product development, and market fulfillment in the HVAC controls and process automation industries. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand, Summers worked for Rockwell Automation and Daikin/McQuay, providing strategic market direction and managing multiple product portfolios both domestically and internationally.

“By joining CABA’s board, I will work to assure that a strong voice is raised on issues concerning the ability of large buildings to provide more productive environments through automation,” said Summers. As part of its commitment to CABA, Ingersoll Rand will participate in the new CABA Research Program.
