NHRAW, ARWI Continue Talks

BOCA RATON, FL — The joint task force studying the possible creation of a new trade association to combine the Northamerican Heating, Refrigeration and Airconditioning Wholesalers Association (NHRAW) and the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Wholesalers International (ARWI) met in January. The committee reviewed a survey from its members to determine the feasibility of such a combination.

The group has concluded that the survey confirmed the members’ support for such a concept. Efforts were started to negotiate a proposal for eventual submission to the memberships of both associations.

“This is a process that will address many issues and involve input from many people in both associations,” said NHRAW president Jim Truesdell and ARWI president Johnnie Drury in a joint statement. “Members of the joint task force will be examining the many facets of the two organizations and how they can best be combined to provide the best services and value to members.”

The task force also created a number of project teams to address aspects of the proposed new association. These aspects include financing, dues and budgeting, conventions and meetings, educational offerings, and governing structure. For more information, go to www.arwi.org (website).
