ARLINGTON, Va. - During the month of March, any technician taking any North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification test will automatically be entered in a drawing for a $200 Visa gift card. Five prizes will be awarded and the winners will be notified by April 30. NATE offers 17 different tests that are divided into two sections, one for service technicians and one for installation technicians. Each NATE test measures applied knowledge. To become NATE certified, a technician must pass a core test and a specialty test. Specialty tests include: Air Conditioning, Air Distribution, Air to Air Heat Pump, Air to Air Gas, Air to Air Oil Heating, Gas Hydronics, and Oil Hydronics.
