BOSTON, MA — According to the Motor Decisions Matter (MDM) campaign, industrial plants and other companies can realize energy savings up to 18% by using a Motor Planning Kit that is being distributed free. Also available at no cost is a MotorSlide Calculator™ that MDM says can compute these energy savings for individual businesses.

These tools are included in a packet provided by sponsors of MDM, which is a national effort that promotes sound motor management.

The Motor Planning Kit contains information, statistics, helpful hints, and tools specially designed to assist companies in developing motor management plans that can save energy. The information was compiled and reviewed by more than 20 experts in the electrical motor and energy conservation fields.

The kit also contains information on developing a plan, quantifying decisions about motor repair and replacement, making motor replacement choices, building a motor inventory, and more.
