McQuay International: Packaged Rooftop Units

New commercial packaged rooftop systems, 3 to 50 tons, are ideal for one- to three-story buildings, including offices, schools, libraries, and strip malls, said the company. They combine the installation costs and interior space savings of a roof-mounted system with the operating and maintenance efficiencies of central heating and cooling systems. Standard low-leak dampers provide resistance to air leakage and help reduce energy costs. According to the manufacturer, dual refrigeration circuits improve reliability, while easy access to mechanical components helps promote routine maintenance and reduce service costs. Noncorrosive, double-sloped drain pans, per ASHRAE Standard 62.1, help improve IAQ.
