FitzGerald praised UA leadership for keeping training at the center of its efforts.
“Training and education in all aspects of the business has always been the hallmark of the UA and MCAA mutual relationship,” said FitzGerald. “Training and education sets the UA and MCAA head and shoulders above the rest of the industry … and will keep us there as long as we do it with our customers and the workforce of the future in the forefront of the planning.
“Simply stated, the UA and the MCAA have used the collective bargaining system to build the strongest jointly administered apprenticeship training and education and industry-financed project and management education system in the industry.”
The Mechanical Service Contractors Association (MSCA) and the UA also unveiled its new UA-S.T.A.R. certification program for service technicians at the conference. According to MCAA, the new program has several benefits and grants 30 college credits to technicians who pass the certification exam.
