Manufacturers For The Week: 12/23/2002

  • Cooper-Atkins (Middlefield, CT) has purchased KTG Inc. (Cincinnati, OH), a developer of wireless systems for hot and cold temperature monitoring. KTG products will be marketed under the Atkins brand name.

  • NUHEAT (Vancouver, BC, Canada), a manufacturer of radiant floor heating, will set up U.S. offices to serve the Midwest, Northeast, and Pacific Northwest, as well as California, Arizona, Nevada, Montana, and the Dakotas.

  • Under a recent agreement with Texas Furnace LLC (Dallas, TX), LG Electronics Inc. will supply 10- and 12-SEER split system air conditioners and heat pumps to match the Texas Furnace DX coils, blower coils, and high efficiency gas furnaces.

  • Therm-O-Disc Inc. (Mansfield, OH), an Emerson company, opened a new facility in Bao’an, China.

  • Effective Jan. 1, 2003, TSI Incorporated (Shoreview, MN) will acquire certain operations of Bristol Industrial and Research Associates Ltd. (BIRAL) located in Bristol, England.

  • Kobe Steel Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) and Wieland-Werke AG (Ulm, Germany) have agreed to merge their copper tube operations in the United States into a new 50/50 joint venture company.

  • EASCO Boiler Corporation (Bronx, NY) has announced that, through a partnership with a company that has the ability to perform onsite postweld heat treatment, the company can now produce high-pressure boilers on the jobsite.
