  • Emerson Climate Technologies (St. Louis) announced that through Aug. 15, contractors will receive a free EK filter drier with the purchase of any Copeland compressor.   • Ametek Inc. (Paoli, Pa.) named Matthew C. French vice president and general manager of its technical and industrial motors products. Ametek produces high-speed air-moving electric motors for OEMs.

  • York International's Unitary Products Group (Norman, Okla.) will sponsor a training program on "Maximizing Profit in a Retail Environment" for up to 200 HVAC contractors on Sept. 14 at America's Center, St. Louis.   • AERCO International Inc. (Northvale, N.J.) finalized a licensing agreement with Acme Control Service (Chicago) to supply factory-authorized, rebuilt CCC and Mod Box controllers for its installed base of Benchmark and KC1000 model boilers and water heaters. The service option offers customers a cost-effective alternative to upgrading to the C-Moreâ„¢ control package, which was released in 2002.

  • Carrier Greece (Athens, Greece) has supplied 635 chillers, more than 3,600 fan coil units, 22 package units, 1,150 split systems, and 47 ducted units for the XXVIII Olympiad, which returns to Greece in August. Carrier Service will control the equipment from a central monitoring center near Athens, and 100 service techs will provide service before and during the Olympic Games, as well as for the Paralympics immediately following the games.
