  • McQuay International (Minneapolis, MN) has promoted Al Hahn to the position of director of field service. In the new position, Hahn will be responsible for managing service and sales operations in North America from his base in Staunton.
  • Parker Hannifin Corporation (Cleveland, OH) reports a 4.5% increase in its fiscal second-quarter net income for the period ended Dec. 31, 2000. The net income for the quarter was $78.3 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, matching the $0.68 earned last year on net income of $75 million.
  • Motors and Gears, Inc. (Chicago, IL) has changed its name to Kinetek, Inc.
  • A.O. Smith Corporation (Milwaukee, WI) closed on the sale of its Engineered Storage Products Company (DeKalb, IL) to CST Industries, Inc. (Kansas City, KS).
  • Filtration Group, Inc. (Joliet, IL) has launched a new business unit dedicated to the non-standard product needs of the custom filter market. Filtration Group Custom Filter will provide specialized product development, engineering, and testing efforts uniquely designed to serve the needs of the OEM market.
  • LG Electronics (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) is introducing a full line of home appliances to the U.S. market under the LG brand name. The line includes room air conditioners, microwave ovens, refrigerators and washing machines.
  • Ice-O-Matic (Denver, CO) has chosen The Ice & Beverage Depot (Sarasota, FL) as distributor of equipment and parts for central and west Florida.
  • Super Radiator Coils (Minneapolis, MN) is expanding its Richmond, VA, facility to include an additional 50,000 sq. ft. The project is scheduled for completion in Feb. 2001.
  • Copeland Corporation’s (Sidney, OH) senior training specialist, Hugh Redmon, was named the 2000 winner of the Herman Goldberg Lifetime Service Award given by the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES).
