Tencarva Machinery Co., a distributor of pumps, compressors, and related accessories headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., ranked 79th  - up from 89th   - in the most recent Grant Thornton North Carolina 100^SM listing of the largest privately owned companies in the state. The results were published in the October 2007 issue of Business North Carolina.

Ed Pearce, Tencarva controller, said, “We are very honored to again be included on this list. Moving up 10 spots is our biggest move ever and a testament to the efforts of all of our employees.”

The Grant Thornton North Carolina 100 list ranks companies by 2006 revenue. Although actual revenue is not disclosed, companies are grouped by ranges of revenue.

Business North Carolina is a Charlotte-based statewide monthly magazine.

Tencarva Machinery is a distributor specializing in liquid process, compressed air, vacuum equipment, and custom-designed systems for the industrial and municipal marketplace. It recently was ranked 46th by the national publication, Industrial Distribution, in that publication’s Big 50 list of top U.S. headquartered distributors, based on sales and earnings.
