The Aurora Universal Protocol Converter (UPC) is now available on Versatec Base, Versatec Ultra and Envision² Compact geothermal heat pumps from WaterFurnace. It is designed to incorporate control of WaterFurnace Aurora-based heat pumps into commercial building automation systems (BAS).
Lennox has expanded its Energence® rooftop unit line with new ultra-high-efficiency models that the company says are the most efficient, lightest, and quietest rooftop units in its class. Westinghouse’s R8HE gas/electric packaged system is now available in a downflow configuration. The R8HE is said to be the first condensing gas/electric packaged unit for residential applications and offers a heating efficiency of 95 percent AFUE.
The Westinghouse EarthDirEX™ 19+ EER, 3.9+ COP geothermal direct geoexchange heat pump is said to require less drilling than other geothermal systems. Also, there is no earth-to-water heat exchanger component, so the heat pump transfers heat more efficiently.

One of the highlights of the AHR Expo — the winners of the 2015 AHR Expo Innovation Awards, representing the major segments of the HVACR marketplace — are on the display at the show. The winning entries were selected in 10 categories as the most innovative new products among the thousands being displayed.
It has been about a month since contractors left snowy New York, home to the 2014 AHR Expo, and returned to their own cold, snowy community. Despite the time, I am sure new products, information, and contacts are still in your mind from the big show.
