The results of the survey reflect a “significant improvement” over last year’s survey, which found 70 percent of participants expected the economy to be better in 2013 than 2012, while 3 percent predicted it would be worse.

The winners of the 2014 AHR Expo Innovation Awards have been announced. A special ceremony for the honorees will be held on Jan. 22, 2014, during the International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) in New York City.
Early indications are that the 2014 AHR Expo, set for New York City next Jan. 21-23, is on pace to be a record-breaking show, according to Clay Stevens, president of International Exposition Co., which produces and manages the expo.
Metropolitan Family Services, the recipient of the 2012 AHR Expo Innovation awards donation, has reported monthly savings of approximately $300 from the HVAC controls they purchased using the donation.
While much of the buzz at the AHR Expo was on dwindling supplies of new HCFC-22, reclamation of that refrigerant, and use of alternative HFCs in retrofits, a number of conversations centered on alternatives beyond familiar HFCs.
The HVACR industry headed south in big numbers for the three-day Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Exposition (AHR Expo) recently. According to show promoter International Exposition Company (IEC), the 2013 Expo broke the all-time Southwest record for the event.
