MONACO - Johnson Controls and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, a leading global environmental foundation, are joining forces to address the issues of energy efficiency and climate change throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. An agreement was formalized at a signing ceremony on July 16 in Monaco in the presence of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II.

Both parties have agreed to explore a range of possible projects, events, and other areas of collaboration to elevate awareness and action on the topic of energy efficiency and its positive impact on global climate change.

“Energy efficiency has never been more important than right now,” said John P. Murphy, vice president and managing director of European Systems and Services, Johnson Controls. “Our goal is to establish a series of joint activities that will educate and influence governments, businesses, and individuals to think and act on energy efficiency and climate change.”

Johnson Controls is looking to create a driving force in Europe and the Mediterranean that represents a call to action for public and private sector organizations, to promote the implementation of projects and programs designed to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

“We view this alliance with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation as an excellent platform through which we can communicate broadly and make a difference,” said Murphy.

“The foundation strives to act as an accelerator of projects and solutions for the environment, and we feel this alliance with Johnson Controls will assist us to encourage sustainable development and help drive action to reverse the effects of climate change,” explained H.E. Bernard Fautrier, vice president and CEO, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. “The objectives desired by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince are to stimulate thought and activity within business, government, individuals, and NGO communities to jointly act upon climate change and increase awareness on the topic of energy efficiency and the important role it plays.”
