JCI and US Airconditioning Expand Arrangement

C. David Myers, president of the building efficiency business of Johnson Controls

MILWAUKEE - Johnson Controls Inc. sold assets from its Unitary Products Northern California branch to US Airconditioning Distributors Inc., City of Industry, Calif.

The companies also agreed to expand the distribution agreement established in September that enhanced the independent distribution of residential and light-commercial products to dealers in Southern California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, and certain parts of Nevada. Under the agreement expansion, effective immediately, US Airconditioning will distribute York, Luxaire, and Guardian-branded products throughout California and northern Nevada.

“This is a natural combination that provides our dealers with a diversified, high-quality product line and ensures we are aligned with an organization committed to applying the resources necessary for continued growth,” said John Staples, president of US Airconditioning.

According to US Airconditioning Distributors, this transaction allows the company to operate more efficiently and expand its distribution territory in California. It only affects the UPG California facilities in Fresno, Sacramento, San Jose, and Stockton. Most employees will remain with US Airconditioning.

“This arrangement reaffirms Johnson Controls’ commitment to independent distribution for its residential and light-commercial products,” said C. David Myers, president of the building efficiency business of Johnson Controls. “This further strengthens our ability to supply branded products throughout California and the Reno, Nevada, area.”
