Jan. 25, 2007: MCAA Chooses Student Chapter Competition Finalists

ROCKVILLE, Md. - A panel of judges has selected four teams that will make oral presentations of their bid proposals for the retrofitting of the Dallas Power & Light Building project as part of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA’s) 2006–2007 Student Chapter Competition, Feb.26, in Orlando, Fla. The judges selected the finalists after evaluating and scoring proposals submitted by 20 MCAA student chapters. The finalists are: Northern California Mechanical Contractors Student Chapter, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo; MCAA’s Student Chapter at Georgia Tech; Oregon State University Student Chapter of the MCAA; and the Student Chapter for Mechanical/Electrical Specialty Contracting at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Criteria used for evaluating the proposals considered each written proposal’s overall quality, project management and organization, feasibility of construction and program schedules, quality of the conceptual design, and accuracy and feasibility of conceptual costs.
