WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Five Iowa State University students majoring in Construction Engineering with a mechanical emphasis will be sharing $3,500 in scholarships from the Ed Lord II/Sheet Metal Contractors of Iowa Scholarship Fund.
The recipients are Iowa residents Clark Bowden, West Des Moines, Iowa; Dave Kubik, Boone, Iowa; Luke Miller, Johnson, Iowa; and Nicole Bell, Milwaukee; Brian Steffens, Chicago.
The Ed Lord II/Sheet Metal Contractors of Iowa Scholarship Fund has contributed $46,000 to help open construction and engineering career paths in the sheet metal and air conditioning industry. The fund identifies and rewards talented and deserving young people who will guide the growth of the industry.
The scholarship fund was established in memory of Ed Lord II, owner of Haco Engineering Co. in Sioux City, Iowa.
