ICOR Breaks Ground on Expansion

ICOR International Inc. broke ground in June 2009 on an expansion to its Indianapolis facility.

INDIANAPOLIS - ICOR International Inc. broke ground this month on an expansion to its Indianapolis facility. Housing the company’s corporate offices and refrigerant production, the facility also serves as ICOR’s main processing plant for the refrigerant reclamation division, Refri-Claim®. The 27,000-square-foot expansion will provide space for additional refrigerant processing lines, a new cylinder refurbishment center, and a state-of-the-art gas chromatography lab.

“Poor economic conditions have caused many companies to grab their purse strings, but we are looking far beyond the recession and this facility expansion will position us to accommodate the increasing demand for our replacement refrigerants and reclaimed gases,” said Gordon McKinney, ICOR vice president.

“The next major stage in the R-22 phaseout is less than six months away, and this is driving users to adopt new refrigerant strategies and moving more people to non-ozone depleting alternatives like NU-22B and One Shot-C everyday. Our refrigerant reclamation division has also experienced substantial growth this year due in great part to the widespread acceptance of our Simple Swap™ business model. It’s full speed ahead at ICOR International, and we truly appreciate the tremendous support we receive from our loyal product distributors, and we are especially grateful for all of the hard working technicians that have made ICOR refrigerants staples in the HVACR industry.”
