Hughes Environmental Joins SECorps

MONTVALE, N.J. - Hughes Environmental Engineering, a commercial-industrial-institutional mechanical services provider serving New Jersey, New York City, and southern Connecticut, is the newest associate of Service Excellence Corps (SECorps), Denver.

SECorp is an association of independently owned HVAC service companies that focus on the development of their people through training (from the field to the front office), principal forums, peer-level exchanges, and the development of best practices. The maxim for the organization is "Building On Strengths."

Hughes Environmental was established in 1935. The company specializes in customized installations of commercial and industrial HVACR systems. Typical clients include food processors, office buildings, data centers, cold storage warehouses, and production facilities such as printers and high-tech manufacturers. Specialties also include design-build engineering, building automation services, and low-temperature cooling applications.

The company employs 65 people. Its service technicians receive medical, dental, and optical coverage; a pension and annuity; tools (including repair service and insurance for tech-owned tools); cell phones; vacation and sick days; winter and summer uniforms; and air conditioned service vans. The company's techs are dispatched from their homes.

The contractor provides continuous training with instructors, including manufacturers, industry experts, and its own staff, held at the company's facility in Montvale and an industry training center in Hazlet, N.J.
