HRAI Receives Training Assistance

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — The Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) SkillTech Academy announced that Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is providing financial assistance to all individuals who attend the “Residential Heat Loss & Heat Gain Calculations,” “Residential Air System Design,” or “Residential Integrated Combo Systems” training programs up through March 31, 2003.

According to HRAI, the decision to subsidize those courses at a rate of $200 per person is part of NRCan’s commitment to improve the design and installation of energy-efficient heating and cooling systems in Canadian homes, including R-2000 homes. Seventeen courses that have been set up across Canada as part of HRAI’s winter/spring course schedule will qualify for funding from NRCan. HRAI said that response to the offering has been overwhelming thus far, and some courses are already full.
