ANDOVER, Mass. - Andover Controls Corp., a manufacturer of intelligent building systems for HVAC, security management, and digital video surveillance applications, recently completed a building management installation at the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel in Houston.

Local Andover representative Enco Systems Inc., Houston, won the bid to provide the Hilton's building management system based largely on the Smart Room Control solution the company proposed to the Hilton's owner, the city of Houston.

Enco installed an Andover Continuum® system, which interfaces with the Hilton's room management system. Using a custom-programmed, three-mode sequence of fancoil operation, the system is said to automatically adjust heating-cooling setpoints, as well as the outside air in-take and bathroom exhaust damper in each guest room, depending on its rental/occupancy status.

The hotel uses outside air-handling units to pretreat the outside air before introducing it into the guest rooms.

In addition, an Andover Controls Smart Sensor user interface in each room allows guests to adjust their personal comfort levels ±3 degrees F from setpoint.
