Houghton Chemical Wins Small Business Award

BOSTON, MA — Houghton Chemical, maker of industrial and water treatment chemicals and heat transfer fluids (including Wintrex® and Safe-T-Therm®), was awarded the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce’s 2001 Small Business of the Year Award.

Founded two generations ago in 1927, by Philip Houghton, the company remains family owned and operated. In addition to its headquarters in Boston, the company has facilities in Allston, MA, and Carlstadt, NJ.

According to Paul Guzzi, president and ceo of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Houghton Chemical “stands out because of their commitment to environmental excellence, the professional development of their employees, and strong community service.”
