Honeywell Equipment Given to Union

DAYTON, Ohio - The Allied Supply Co. committed to donating a wide range of high-tech controls equipment - valued at $48,000 - to Dayton’s UA Local 162/MCA of Greater Dayton Mechanical Equipment Service (MES) Training Program. The Honeywell equipment will be used to train local MES apprentices and journeymen enrolled in this Dayton-based HVAC equipment service training center.

“We are very grateful to Allied Supply and Honeywell Corp. for their support as we unveil new training modules which are now in development,” said Dean Brill, business manager of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry (UA) Local 162. “The main function of these training modules is to provide hands-on education of our students in several important areas, including building temperature controls and overall facility management controls.”

The specific equipment donated included the Honeywell T7350, the Honeywell RM7800, and Honeywell direct digital controls (DDC).

“We’re happy to support the UA/MCA Mechanical Equipment Service training program through this equipment donation,” said Tom Homan, president of the Allied Supply Co. “On average, the training facility graduates 30 highly-qualified servicemen and journeymen each year. These well-trained HVACR graduates are an important technological resource for the Dayton community.”
