Hewlett Packard: Data Center Rack Duct Kit

The HP 10000 (10K) G2 rack air duct kit minimizes hot and cold air mixing together. The air duct channels the hot exhaust air from the rear of the rack directly into the top plenum (air return) to eliminate hot spots and air mixing in the data center. It increases cooling efficiency by returning hotter air to the computer room air-handler units. The rack cooling solution suits racks using 5-14 kW power, says the company. Its height can be adjusted for different top ceiling plenum heights, and it has no fans or moving parts, for better reliability and silent operation. The 10K G2 can be retrofitted to existing problem racks and can work with single or multiple racks.
