A permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor is standard on the company's medium- and high-profile unit coolers, air-cooled condensers, and most of the company's condensing units. It is available as a factory-installed option on low-profile unit coolers, center mount unit coolers, and low-velocity unit coolers for Bohn, Larkin, Climate Control, and Chandler brands. According to the manufacturer, this motor reduces motor watts and heat gain in the conditioned space. This results in reduced compressor loads with a corresponding reduction in compressor watts, making the compressor work less and consume less energy, the company states.
