A.O. Smith Corp. (Milwaukee, WI) has announced third-quarter earnings of $0.4 million or $0.02 per share on sales of $269 million. Compared to last year, sales declined approximately $22 million or 8%, while earnings declined by $7 million.
Echelon’s (Sunnyvale, CA) revenues for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2001 were $18.0 million, an increase of 47% over revenues of $12.2 million for the same period in 2000. Net earnings for the quarter were $757,000, or $0.02 per share on a fully diluted basis, compared to net earnings of $128,000, or $0.00 per share on a fully diluted basis for the third quarter of 2000.
General Electric (GE) (Fairfield, CT) has announced third-quarter earnings of $3.281 billion, or $0.33 per share, up 3% over third quarter 2000. Revenues were $29.5 billion, an increase of 7% over the third quarter of 2000.
The Manitowoc Co., Inc. (Manitowoc, WI) has reported that net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2001 reached $301 million, a 40% increase over the period in 2000. Earnings for the quarter were $12.4 million, or $0.51 per diluted share, compared with $12.3 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2000.
Mueller Industries, Inc. (Memphis, TN) has announced the results for the third quarter and nine-month period ended Sept. 29, 2001. Earnings were $0.51 per diluted share, compared with earnings of $0.50 for the same period a year ago. Net income for the third quarter was $19.0 million, compared with $19.3 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2000.
Modine Manufacturing Co. (Racine, WI) has reported sales of $269.1 million and earnings of $6.8 million, or $0.20 per fully diluted share for the quarter ended Sept. 26, 2001. Sales declined 5.3% from the $284.1 million reported a year ago, and net earnings declined 66.5% from $20.4 million a year ago.
