Feds Support Efficient HUD Housing

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has formed a partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) committing them to work together to improve the energy efficiency of HUD’s public, assisted, and insured housing as well as housing financed through HUD’s formula or competitive grant programs.

The agencies will coordinate their resources to expand the use of Energy Star-labeled products in HUD-financed housing, expand the number of Energy Star-labeled new homes financed by HUD, and promote energy-efficiency improvements in new and existing HUD-financed housing.
